A trip from Westchester to a New York airport by rail has two parts: the train from your town into Manhattan, and the connection from Manhattan to the terminal. This guide lists the station for 37 Westchester and lower Connecticut towns and the published connection to JFK, LaGuardia, Newark Liberty and Westchester County Airport (HPN).
The AirTrain JFK costs $8.75 per person at Jamaica, and Metro-North’s Hudson, Harlem and New Haven lines all end at Grand Central Terminal, where the JFK, LaGuardia and Newark connections start.
The Airport Connection from Harlem-125th Street or Grand Central
From any Westchester station, LaGuardia is the shortest connection: the M60 bus runs along 125th Street, and the free Q70 meets the subway in Queens. JFK needs the LIRR from Grand Central Madison to Jamaica plus the $8.75 AirTrain. Newark needs NJ Transit from Penn Station. HPN needs no Manhattan leg at all.
| Airport | Connection after the Metro-North ride | Published fare and who publishes it (Sep 2026) | Not included |
|---|---|---|---|
| LaGuardia | Get off at Harlem-125th Street and take the M60 bus, or ride to Grand Central and take the 7 train to 74 St-Broadway or 61 St-Woodside for the Q70 | Q70 LaGuardia Link free (LaGuardia Airport); M60 serves Terminals B and C (LaGuardia Airport); subway $3.00 (Port Authority airport transit page) | Metro-North fare (MTA) |
| JFK | Grand Central Madison, LIRR to Jamaica, AirTrain JFK | AirTrain JFK $8.75 per entry or exit at Jamaica or Howard Beach (Port Authority) | Metro-North and LIRR fares (MTA) |
| Newark Liberty | Subway to Penn Station New York, NJ Transit to Newark Liberty International Airport Station, about 30 minutes | About $17.25 from Penn Station New York including the AirTrain when bought as an NJ Transit ticket (Newark Liberty) | Metro-North fare and subway leg (MTA) |
| Westchester County (HPN) | No Manhattan leg: car, taxi, or Bee-Line route 12 from the White Plains TransCenter | Long-term lot $20.88 per day for stays over three days, reserved online (Westchester County Airport, 2026 pricing) | Taxi or car cost from your town |
Metro-North and LIRR fares and running times are set by the MTA and change with each timetable; this guide does not quote them. Check the MTA timetable for your station before comparing the total with a car service. The Metro-North to LIRR transfer at Grand Central Madison is the step-by-step version of the JFK change.
Why Harlem-125th Street Matters for LaGuardia Trips
Hudson, Harlem and New Haven Line trains stop at Harlem-125th Street on the way into Grand Central. LaGuardia Airport’s public transport page, read in September 2026, lists the M60 bus with stops on 125th Street in Harlem, serving Terminals B and C, so a Westchester traveler bound for LaGuardia can leave the train there instead of riding to Midtown and back out to Queens.
The same page lists Terminal A as a stop for the M60, while LaGuardia Airport’s Terminal A page describes that terminal as closed to the public with no commercial flights. Plan on Terminal B or C. Airport connections from Harlem-125th Street has the station layout.
The Station for Every Westchester Town
The table lists the station or stations a traveler from each town normally uses and the Metro-North line it sits on. Three towns, Elmsford, Rye Brook and Eastchester, have no station carrying their name, and their nearest options are shown. The connection costs in the airport table above, such as the $8.75 AirTrain JFK, are the same from every row.

| Rye Brook | Port Chester | New Haven |
| Greenwich, CT | Greenwich | New Haven |
| Stamford, CT | Stamford | New Haven |
| Norwalk, CT | South Norwalk | New Haven |
The Connecticut rows are included because riders from Greenwich, Stamford and Norwalk use the same New Haven Line and the same Manhattan connections. A guide to the three Metro-North lines in Westchester describes each line.
Towns Where the Drive to the Station Comes First
For Elmsford, Rye Brook and Eastchester, the trip starts with a drive, a taxi or a drop-off. Rye Brook riders board at Port Chester, the last New York stop on the New Haven Line before Greenwich. Elmsford sits between two lines, with White Plains on the Harlem Line and Tarrytown on the Hudson Line, and both reach Harlem-125th Street and Grand Central.
Station parking in Westchester is run by each village or city, with its own permits and daily rules, so check the municipality before leaving a car overnight. For an HPN flight longer than three days, the airport’s own long-term lot at $20.88 per day is the published alternative. Taxi versus rideshare from Westchester to the NYC airports compares the door-to-door car options.
When Westchester County Airport (HPN) Is the Better Start
In September 2026, Westchester County Airport listed five scheduled passenger airlines at HPN: American, BermudAir, Breeze, Delta and JetBlue. It operates under a Terminal Capacity Agreement that limits the terminal to “240 scheduled passengers per half hour and four available gate positions,” with the limit raised during peak holiday travel periods.
For northern Harlem Line towns such as Katonah, Bedford Hills, Mount Kisco and Chappaqua, HPN is the one airport with no Manhattan connection. The trade-off is the route map, since five airlines reach far fewer cities than the three large airports. HPN airlines and nonstop destinations lists them, and HPN long-term parking compared covers the lot.
Which Manhattan-to-Airport Connection Costs Least
These comparisons cover only the connection after the Metro-North ride, the part the airport operators publish. They do not include the Metro-North fare, which is the same for JFK, LaGuardia and Newark, or the LIRR fare on the JFK route.
- Winner for most Westchester travelers: LaGuardia, the lowest published connection cost. The Q70 is free from Terminals B and C, so the added cost from Grand Central is one $3.00 subway fare; the M60 from 125th Street avoids Grand Central altogether.
- Groups flying from JFK: the AirTrain group fare. The Port Authority charges $8.75 for the first rider and $4.50 for each additional rider, up to five, with a $26.75 maximum, so four people pay $22.25 for the AirTrain if all tap within five minutes.
- Highest published connection cost: Newark Liberty. About $17.25 from Penn Station New York, plus a subway ride from Grand Central to Penn Station.
- Winner when the airline flies from it: HPN, with no Manhattan connection at all.

Practical Points for Westchester Rail Trips to the Airports
- Newark Liberty publishes the same $8.75 AirTrain fare as JFK, charged on top of the transit fare to anyone without an NJ Transit or Amtrak ticket; an NJ Transit ticket to the airport station already includes it.
- AirTrain JFK’s group fare applies only when all riders tap within a 5-minute period, according to the Port Authority.
- AirTrain JFK fares are capped at $43.50 within a rolling 30-day period, according to the Port Authority.
- LaGuardia Airport lists 61 St-Woodside as a Q70 stop, a transfer point for both the 7 train and the LIRR Port Washington Branch.
- Newark Liberty’s transportation page lists a Coach USA express bus from the Port Authority Bus Terminal to the airport, about 50 minutes for $23.50 one way.
- Bee-Line route 12 links HPN with the White Plains TransCenter, the bus option for travelers who reach White Plains by train.
Mistakes That Cost Westchester Travelers Time and Money
- Trusting older guides that list the AirTrain JFK at $8.50, the 2025 fare. The Port Authority publishes $8.75 in 2026.
- Using the 2025 HPN long-term rate that the airport page still prints beside the 2026 one: the 2026 pricing block sets $20.88 per day for stays over three days.
- Waiting at the Newark curb: Newark Liberty states that terminal curbsides are for active pick-ups and drop-offs only and that unattended vehicles are towed. Its free Cell Phone Lot is next to the P4 garage.
- Heading to LaGuardia Terminal A on the M60: the airport describes Terminal A as closed to the public with no commercial flights.
- Riding to Grand Central for a LaGuardia flight when the train already stops at Harlem-125th Street, where the M60 stops.

Editorial note: prices, schedules, and policies on this page were checked against the official sources named in the text in September 2026. Treat every figure here as a reference point rather than a quote: operators change fares and hours without notice, and many vary by season, by event and by demand. Confirm the current price with the operator before you travel. Westchester Ride does not sell tickets or parking and does not accept payment to rank any operator.
Ride Metro-North to Harlem-125th Street, a stop on all three Westchester lines, and take the M60 bus to Terminal B or C. From Grand Central, the alternative is the 7 train to 74 St-Broadway or 61 St-Woodside and the free Q70 LaGuardia Link.
Take Metro-North to Grand Central, the LIRR from Grand Central Madison to Jamaica, and AirTrain JFK to your terminal. The Port Authority charges $8.75 per person at Jamaica, with a $4.50 group fare for each additional rider up to five people.
Only if one of its five scheduled airlines, American, BermudAir, Breeze, Delta or JetBlue, flies your route. HPN needs no Manhattan connection, which matters most for northern Harlem Line towns such as Katonah, Bedford Hills and Mount Kisco.
Elmsford and Rye Brook have none, and Eastchester has no station carrying its name. Elmsford riders use White Plains or Tarrytown, Rye Brook riders use Port Chester, and Eastchester riders use Tuckahoe or Crestwood.
Newark Liberty publishes about $17.25 from Penn Station New York by NJ Transit, a trip of about 30 minutes, with the $8.75 AirTrain included in an NJ Transit ticket to the airport station.
Yes. The Hudson, Harlem and New Haven lines all end at Grand Central Terminal and all stop at Harlem-125th Street on the way, so the airport connections are the same from any Westchester station.
From Westchester, a LaGuardia flight can start at Harlem-125th Street, a JFK flight runs through Grand Central Madison, and an HPN flight skips Manhattan.
