What UBS Arena publishes about parking, and the hour it leaves out
UBS Arena parking is five named lots at 2400 Hempstead Turnpike sold through Ticketmaster, none of them carrying a published base price. The arena opens them two hours before doors open and closes them 90 minutes after the event, but it prints no door time on any page.

A parking rule anchored to an hour its own publisher withholds cannot be executed from a driveway in Nassau County. Doors opening is the anchor of the only parking clock UBS Arena publishes, and no page of the arena states it. Reading the entrances page, Know Before You Go, the FAQs, the safety page and the trip planner on September 1, 2026 produced five pages and no door time.
What the published record does contain is a lot map, three official versions of the opening rule, and exactly two dollar figures, neither of which is a rate. The table below is the whole picture as the issuers wrote it, read on September 1, 2026.
| Lot or approach, as UBS Arena names it | Published cost | Where it is bought | Published limitation | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Emerald Parking, Cross Island Parkway Exit 26D | No base rate on ubsarena.com, September 2026; concerts add $5 to $10 at the lot | Ticketmaster in advance, or on site on event days | The only lot the New York Islanders name for day-of purchase | A driver who still has no pass on the morning of the event |
| Belmont Park Garage, Cross Island Parkway Exit 26A | No base rate published; $125 upon exit without a prepaid pass, per the New York Islanders | Ticketmaster in advance only | The $125 line appears on nhl.com/islanders and not on the arena parking page | A driver who already holds the garage pass and nobody else |
| Silver Parking, Cross Island Parkway Exit 26B | No base rate published, September 2026; free on non-event days per The Park at UBS Arena | Ticketmaster in advance | 28 accessible spaces with adjacent access aisles, per UBS Arena | Non-event visits and accessible parking with a shuttle |
| Diamond Parking, Cross Island Parkway Exit 26B | No base rate published, September 2026 | Ticketmaster in advance, never at the gate | General paid parking is not available for purchase in Diamond and Ruby lots | Ticket holders who bought the lot weeks before the event |
| Ruby Parking, Cross Island Parkway Exit 26B | No base rate published, September 2026 | Ticketmaster in advance, never at the gate | The only one of the five lots with no accessible spaces and no shuttle in print | A driver with no mobility need and no other lot offered |
| Elmont-UBS Arena Station and the free arena shuttle | Fare set by the MTA and absent from ubsarena.com, September 2026 | MTA TrainTime, which UBS Arena links to | 10 to 15 minute walk to the building, or the free shuttle | Anyone unwilling to guess when a lot opens |
Five lots, three Cross Island Parkway exits, and two that never sell at the gate
The arena names five lots and gives each one a single road approach. Emerald Parking is reached by Cross Island Parkway Exit 26D. The Belmont Park Garage is reached by Exit 26A. Silver, Diamond and Ruby Parking share Exit 26B, which the arena writes as Hempstead Turnpike East.
The phrase the arena repeats for all five is car access only. That wording turns each exit number into a constraint rather than a suggestion, because the campus sits inside a parkway interchange and a missed ramp is a loop rather than a turn at the next light. A Belmont Park Garage pass taken to Exit 26B does not become a Silver Parking pass on arrival.
Two of the five sell in one channel only. General paid parking is not available for purchase in Diamond and Ruby lots, the arena writes, so a pass for either has to exist before the car leaves the house. The New York Islanders name Emerald Parking as the place where general paid parking is available on event days, and put the prepay window at up to two hours before puck drop through Ticketmaster.
Which lots are offered at all moves with the calendar. Available lots vary by event, and the same page tells drivers it strongly encourages purchasing parking ahead of time through Ticketmaster. Every large venue in the region draws the line between what it sells and what it merely points at somewhere different, and the access map for every New York area stadium and arena shows where each one puts it.
The campus map the arena hosts as a PDF carries two more names that no page of prose repeats, DIAMOND PLUS PARKING and PADDOCK PARK. What they are, who may use them and what they cost is unpublished on ubsarena.com as of September 2026. The file itself dates from 2022 and still labels Belmont Park Village as coming soon, so it is a drawing of the campus rather than a statement of what is on sale tonight.
The UBS Arena parking clock is set to a door time UBS Arena never prints
Three official sentences answer the question of when the lots open, and no two of them agree. Parking opens 2 hours prior to doors opening and closes 90 minutes after events, unless otherwise stated, per UBS Arena.
Parking opens 3.5 hours prior to events and 90 minutes after events, unless otherwise stated, per the New York Islanders on nhl.com. The Spanish version of the arena’s own page reads: El estacionamiento abre 2 horas antes del evento y cierra 90 minutos después del mismo. Three sentences, two starting points, two durations.
The English page of the venue counts backwards from doors opening. The tenant counts backwards from the event and stretches the window to three and a half hours. The Spanish page of the venue keeps the two hours and quietly swaps the anchor to the event, which makes it a third rule rather than a translation of the first.
Two of the three can be worked out from a ticket, because a ticket carries an event time. The one that cannot is the version printed by the building itself. Doors opening appears on none of the five UBS Arena pages where a visitor would look for it, checked on September 1, 2026, and the only reference to it anywhere on the domain is the parking sentence that depends on it.
The circle can still be broken, by logic rather than by a source. Doors never open after an event has started, so the venue’s own rule cannot place the opening later than two hours before the event begins. Arriving two hours before the printed event time therefore satisfies all three published versions at once. That is a deduction from what the two issuers wrote, not a figure either of them states, and it is the only arrival time in this operation that carries no risk of a closed gate under any of the three rules.
The largest figure in the operation is printed by the Islanders, not by the building
One sentence is printed twice by the New York Islanders and reads: UBS Arena attendees who park in the Belmont Park Garage without a prepaid parking pass will be charged $125 upon exit. It sits on the club parking page and again on its getting here page. The UBS Arena parking page does not carry it at all, checked on September 1, 2026.
That is the only three-figure number anywhere in the parking operation, and the tenant publishes it while the landlord does not. The arena’s own contribution to the dollar column is smaller and narrower: for concerts, prices will increase $5 to $10 when purchased at the arena parking lots, a line the arena publishes on its parking page. That figure applies to buying at the gate on a concert night and to nothing else.
No base rate stands behind either number. The arena publishes no price for Emerald, Silver, Diamond, Ruby or the Belmont Park Garage and sends the question to Ticketmaster, which sells parking event by event. A surcharge and a penalty are what the official record offers. Both describe what happens when a driver does not prepay, and neither says what prepaying costs.
Payment method is settled even though price is not. Contactless options cover all sales, including food service, parking, and merchandise, because UBS Arena is a cashless venue, and its FAQs add cash-to-card kiosks without saying how many exist or where they stand. A driver reaching Emerald Parking with cash and no card has a problem the arena has described but has not solved.
Three New York arenas, three shapes of the same missing price
The gap is not particular to Elmont. Reading the parking pages of the three big arenas of the New York market on September 1, 2026 produced three different ways of declining the same question, and the difference between them is what each building actually owns.
| Arena, as its own site names it | Lots the venue names on its parking page | Parking price the venue publishes | Who sets the number instead | What a driver can carry from home |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| UBS Arena, Elmont | Five: Emerald, Silver, Diamond, Ruby and the Belmont Park Garage | None, checked September 2026 | Ticketmaster, event by event | A $125 exit charge printed by the New York Islanders and a $5 to $10 concert surcharge |
| Barclays Center, Brooklyn | Nine independent garages lettered A to I with street addresses | None, checked September 2026 | Each independent operator, because the arena owns none of them | Nine addresses and the line that it does not own or operate any garages |
| Madison Square Garden, Manhattan | None; the word garage appears once on the directions page | None, checked September 2026 | SpotHero, named the official parking app of Madison Square Garden | A $10 per ride Lyft promotion, the only dollar figure on the page |
Of the three, the Elmont building has the most to publish and the widest distance between what it owns and what it prices. It names five lots on its own campus, assigns each one an exit number and counts accessible bays in three of them. Madison Square Garden names no garage at all, and the Midtown page that answers a parking question with a booking widget is what a driver gets instead of a rate.
Barclays Center takes the third route and explains itself. Barclays Center DOES NOT own or operate any garages, per its parking page, and the sustainability entry of its guide gives the reason as no on-site public or employee parking to reduce single occupancy vehicle use. That produces nine Brooklyn addresses with a single readable rate card behind them and no arena lot at all.
Owning the asphalt is what makes Elmont the odd case of the three. A venue with no lots cannot price lots. A venue with five lots, three parkway exits and a published count of accessible spaces has every component of a rate card except the rate.
Which UBS Arena lot survives a door time nobody publishes
Emerald Parking wins for any driver still without a pass. It is the only lot the New York Islanders list as selling general paid parking on event days, its prepay window runs through Ticketmaster until two hours before puck drop, and the free shuttle serves it alongside the Elmont-UBS Arena Station. The condition attached is Exit 26D, which is also the sole approach to the rideshare zone on the north side.
For accessible parking the winner is Emerald again, and this time on a count rather than on convenience. Emerald holds 36 accessible parking spaces, Silver 28 and Diamond 28, all with adjacent access aisles, per the arena, which pairs Emerald with ADA-accessible shuttle vans and buses including two dedicated shuttle vans for on-demand service. Silver and Diamond carry accessible shuttles of their own. The Belmont Park Garage is credited with accessible spaces on the parking page and omitted from the accessibility guide, so its count is unpublished.
Ruby Parking loses every scenario in this list. It appears on neither page with an accessible space, carries no published shuttle, and never sells at the gate. Ruby is the lot to identify by name before a pass is bought rather than after, because nothing on the arena pages compensates for landing in it.
The one sum the published record supports is the cost of not prepaying, and it is not a single number. Arriving without a pass at the concert lots adds $5 to $10, according to UBS Arena. Arriving without a pass at the Belmont Park Garage costs $125 upon exit, per the New York Islanders. The identical decision moves by a factor of at least twelve depending on which Cross Island Parkway exit the car took. Citi Field, which publishes four parking prices set in advance, including the drive-up premium, shows what that same disclosure looks like when a venue chooses to make it.
For a driver who refuses to guess a clock, the winner is not a lot. Free shuttles run between the arena, Emerald Parking and the Elmont-UBS Arena Station, and the arena publishes the station as a 10 to 15 minute walk north of the building. Fares and timetables belong to the MTA and are absent from ubsarena.com, and the mechanics of that station are a separate question from the lots.
Staying over does not shorten the drive either. The five hotels the arena lists sit between 6.8 miles and 17.5 miles away: the Hyatt Regency JFK at Resorts World at 6.8 miles, the TWA Hotel at 8.2 miles and the Holiday Inn Express and Suites Woodside at 17.5 miles, every one of them clustered around JFK Airport rather than in Elmont or anywhere else in Nassau County. Two of the five carry a special UBS Arena rate, and none of the five publishes a shuttle to the building, so the car makes the trip twice.
Seven UBS Arena parking rules that decide where a car ends up
Each line below is published by UBS Arena or by the New York Islanders and was read on September 1, 2026, and each one changes where a vehicle stops or what the night costs.
- Tailgating is barred by a lease, not by a house rule. The lease with Empire State Development prohibits tailgating at UBS Arena, per the arena, which names the party behind the rule instead of simply stating it.
- Buses and oversized vehicles need three days of notice. Coordination runs by email no less than 72 hours prior to an event, and the vehicle would enter at Gate 5 Road off of Hempstead Turnpike and drop off guests in Silver C lot before proceeding to the designated parking area.
- The free shuttle is missing from the page a driver reads. Free shuttles are available between UBS Arena, Emerald Parking, and Elmont-UBS Arena Station appears on the trip planner, while the parking page mentions only the ADA vans assigned to individual lots.
- Non-event days invert the whole arrangement. The Park at UBS Arena publishes complimentary parking in Silver Parking on ordinary days, and on event days sends the same visitor to an event pass or to on-site purchase at Emerald Parking.
- Rideshare has one road in and one waiting room. The pick-up area is only accessible via Cross Island Parkway Exit 26D and Green Road, per the arena, and the Rideshare Waiting Area sits on the main concourse by section 118 with phone charging. The only offer the arena prints is code UBSARENA for 50% off your first 2 rides on Lyft, up to $10 per ride.
- No re-entry makes the walk back to the car final. Re-entry is not allowed at UBS Arena, including after being ejected, per the code of conduct, so a forgotten item in Diamond Parking is a forgotten item for the rest of the evening.
- Accessible bays still require the permit, not just the pass. All guests with disabilities who park in the accessible parking spots must have a valid disabled parking permit and/or plate, in the arena’s own wording, the same separation of permit from purchase that governs the four Bronx garages priced by one city-appointed operator.
Failure points that follow from an unpublished door time
The most expensive mistake at this campus is a rolling one. A driver who takes Exit 26A into the Belmont Park Garage without a prepaid pass meets a $125 charge upon exit, per the New York Islanders, at the end of the night rather than at the barrier on the way in. Nothing on ubsarena.com warns about it, so the sentence that would prevent the charge lives on a different company’s website.
The second failure is a clock imported from the wrong issuer. A fan who plans around 3.5 hours prior to events, the Islanders wording, and arrives at a concert governed by the arena wording of 2 hours prior to doors opening, is early by an amount neither page allows anyone to calculate. The 90 minutes after events is the one element all three versions agree on, and it is the end of the window rather than the start.
Three smaller failures follow the same shape. Arriving at Exit 26B expecting to buy a space fails, because general paid parking is not available for purchase in Diamond and Ruby lots. Choosing Ruby Parking for a passenger with a mobility need fails, because no accessible space and no shuttle is published for it. Planning around DIAMOND PLUS PARKING or PADDOCK PARK fails, because those names exist only on a 2022 campus PDF and on no page of the arena in September 2026.
Two failures land after the car is already parked. Collecting a physical ticket early fails, because the Ticketmaster Concierge beside the NE Entrance opens at 12pm on event days and keeps 12pm to 4pm hours from Monday to Thursday when nothing is on. Paying at the gate fails as well, because the campus is cashless across food service, parking, and merchandise, and the cash-to-card kiosks the arena FAQs mention are described without a number or a location.
Editorial note: prices, schedules, and policies on this page were checked against the official sources named in the text in September 2026. Venues, airports, and transit agencies change them without notice; confirm with the operator before you travel. Westchester Ride does not sell tickets or parking and does not accept payment to rank any operator.
Parking questions drivers ask before Exit 26
Six answers assembled from what UBS Arena and the New York Islanders published in September 2026, covering the missing rate, the three opening rules and the charge only one of the two issuers prints.
UBS Arena publishes no base rate for any of its five lots and sells parking through Ticketmaster, which prices it event by event. The two official figures are a surcharge and a penalty: $5 to $10 more at the concert lots, and $125 on exit from the Belmont Park Garage without a prepaid pass.
Three official versions exist. Parking opens 2 hours prior to doors opening and closes 90 minutes after events, per UBS Arena. The New York Islanders write 3.5 hours prior to events. The Spanish page of the arena writes 2 hours before the event. Doors opening is not published on any UBS Arena page.
Only in one lot. The New York Islanders list Emerald Parking as the lot where general paid parking is available on event days, reached from Cross Island Parkway Exit 26D, with prepaid passes sold through Ticketmaster up to two hours before puck drop. Diamond and Ruby never sell at the gate, per UBS Arena.
Both New York Islanders pages carry the same sentence: UBS Arena attendees who park in the Belmont Park Garage without a prepaid parking pass will be charged $125 upon exit. The arena’s own parking page does not repeat it, checked September 1, 2026, so the largest figure comes from the tenant.
On the north side of the building, reached from Cross Island Parkway Exit 26D and Green Road, as UBS Arena describes it. The arena also publishes a Rideshare Waiting Area on the main concourse by section 118. Lyft appears as promo code UBSARENA; Uber is not mentioned anywhere on ubsarena.com.
Yes, and it publishes counts: 36 accessible spaces in Emerald Parking, 28 in Silver and 28 in Diamond, all with adjacent access aisles and served by ADA-accessible shuttles. The Belmont Park Garage is listed with accessible spaces but no count. Ruby Parking has neither a count nor a shuttle in print.
A venue that names its lots has accepted the question of what they cost. UBS Arena named five, numbered their exits, counted their accessible bays, and then set the opening hour against a door time it keeps to itself. The gap is small enough to fix with one sentence and wide enough to make every other sentence on the page unusable at 5:00 pm.
